Panchakarma
Views: 175

Panchakarma is the purification therapy used in Ayurvedic medicine.  Panchakarma has a literal meaning:  "the five actions"; and, it refers to five procedures intended to intensively cleanse and restore balance to the body, mind, and emotions.

Panchakarma therapy is the subtle purification procedures of Ayurveda that dissolve metabolic waste products and environmental toxins from the body's tissues in a gentle and effective way.  Panchakarma eliminates these toxins from the physiology and enlivens the body’s self-healing mechanisms, thus rejuvenating the mind and body.

Panchakarma is used by Ayurvedic physicians as a treatment of a wide variety of health conditions and as a preventative measure.
